The CDA has it all! – Sara Segura, Florida (CounciLINK, March 2013)

Sara Segura

Sara Segura, a bilingual educatorin Hialeah, Florida, has found that earning her CDA credential close to three years ago helped to prepare her most in the areas of literacy and language development. Her favorite part of the CDA credential is that, “everything is connected in one place.” She likes that the CDA credential is setup to assess a variety of skills in one fell swoop, no need for multiple ECE credentials or courses, the CDA credential has it all!

Sara is very enthusiastic about her job and working with children. She says “Every day is different, children are very spontaneous. You see how they learn and their excitement when they learn something new. It makes you feel good that you were a part of that.” Sara finds that being apart of the learning development of children is very rewarding.

Picture of Sara SeguraWith Sara’s renewal date fast approaching, she stated that she has definite plans to renew. She is also excited about being able to renew online and that the Council will be offering more information in Spanish. Sara stated, “Having more Spanish language materials will make it easier for educators whose first language is Spanish and who teach bilingual children.”

Sara highly recommends everyone to get their CDA credential:”It is important to have your CDA because ECE is always changing and it means better learning for children!”
