Did you know that we don’t choose our work? Really, it chooses us. Regardless of the reason you got into your work, it really chose you. We know exactly what we don’t want to do more than what we do want to do. Repacking your Work Bag is a critical Survival skill. We’ve learned through the pandemic and other situations that we are moving toward a “creator economy” – what will you do with what you know? How can we reimagine our work to meet the needs of our future generations through finding meaning and purpose in our work?

SLD, Universal Curriculum Design, and Accommodations: Providing Accessibility to Curriculum

Presenters: Mellisa Packwood

Many special needs fall under the SLD umbrella. A class may include students with a variety of needs and teachers must provide support for each and every one of these needs. Participants will learn how to utilize universal curriculum design and accommodations in an effective manner. Assistive technology (from low and high tech), visual supports, movement breaks, homemade and store-bought tools, sensory activities and areas, and more can assist students in accessing the curriculum.

Celebrating the “you” in Early Educators
