Delaware Offers Second Round of Child Care Worker Bonuses

Tiny Tots Childcare Director Jessica Burns got good news Wednesday: A second round of relief checks for Delaware’s child care professionals.

That will help her workers pay for their certifications, which cost between $300 and $500, she said.

$120M Available for NJ Preschool Facility Expansions

Gov. Phil Murphy today announced the availability of $120 million in grants for preschool facility expansion and highlighted the funding 16 school districts recently received to establish or grow their preschool programming. The governor also announced an additional $2.6 million to assist 33 school districts with supplementary start-up funding.

5 Ways NC Democrats and Republicans are Working Together on the Child Care Crisis

Democrats and Republicans are sponsoring five bills together about early childhood in North Carolina, and seeking ways to address the child care crisis. Daphne Alsiyao, speaking to reporters while holding her 8-month-old daughter Ella Rose, said that she’s about to move from Rockingham County to Forsyth County, where she and her husband are seeking child care for two of their three children.

Changes Could Come to Child Care in Kansas with this Bill

TOPEKA, Kan.  – New legislation in Kansas could result in several changes to state law on day care homes and child care centers.

Earlier this month, Sen. Chase Blasi introduced Senate Bill 282 to the Committee on Federal and State Affairs. Currently, language in the bill would lead to significant changes to child care licensing regulations in the Sunflower State.
