Meet Roshon

Instructional Systems Designer

“Our children need you.”

Roshon always aims for strikes in life and bowling, a fun sport she loves. Her goal is to knock down all ten out of ten pins in everything she puts her mind to, including her work here at the Council. She’s committed to knocking down all the roadblocks young children face in getting high-quality early learning and that’s why she supports the CDA. “Continuity matters” she says, and CDA training ensures educators nationwide receive consistent training based on the most up-to-date information and research on best practices in early learning.

“Competent, committed teachers make a difference in people’s lives,” Roshon says. “Having that one professor in my life who believed in me when I did not believe in myself certainly made a difference for me. I became passionate about learning because it gave me a sense of purpose. And that’s why I encourage all educators to get a CDA. The credential is all about constant learning and putting what you learn into practice,” a conviction that inspires Roshon to keep learning, too. And she has more time to do that, now that her two sons have grown up. When Roshon is at home, she prefers to keep the TV off, curl up with a good book and listen to music. Roshon often does this with her cat, and her beloved feline companion is a ten out of ten in Roshon’s book.
