Special Renewal Offer for Maryland CDAs

November 17, 2022

Did you know over 13,000 Maryland educators now hold a CDA® credential? They play a vital role in guiding young learners toward success, as the Maryland State Department of Education already knows. So, the department has partnered with the Council to provide funding that can assist CDA holders in renewing their credential.

The Maryland grant is great news for both current CDAs and the young students they serve. Holding a CDA is a guarantee of competence in teaching. It also pushes careers ahead, according to a recent Council survey. Fifty-eight percent of respondents said earning a CDA helped them get a promotion, and 55 percent said it helped them get a raise. So, “it’s a great way for providers to enhance their professional growth,” according to Crystal Barksdale, a family child care home owner who kept her CDA current with help from the grant.

“I put a lot of work into my CDA training,” Crystal says. “So, I wanted to keep the credential. The Maryland grant gave me a chance to do so without spending a lot of money.” So, get on the move, like Crystal did, along with many other holders of our valued credential.

Apply for funding today through the Maryland grant. Take advantage of this cost-effective way to renew your CDA. It will assist you in the classroom—and advance your early childhood career.
