The Council Applauds Legislation to Support Child Care

Lawmakers are now negotiating a COVID-19 relief package for individuals and industries—like ours—that have been especially hard-hit. As mentioned in “A Moment with Dr. Moore,” the Council commends the U.S. House of Representatives for already passing the Child Care Is Essential Act (H.R. 7027), a historic bill that responds to the pressing needs of families for high-quality child care and education during the pandemic. Now we call on the Senate and Administration to provide bipartisan support for the funds needed to stabilize and sustain our sector.
