Policy & Advocacy Pathways

Working with the Federal, State and Local Government to advance early childhood education.

A CALL TO ACTION:

The Council for Professional Recognition is urging immediate action to protect the Head Start program, which faces potential budget cuts that could eliminate funding entirely according to recent media reports. This would jeopardize access to early learning for nearly 800,000 children, force centers to close, and result in job losses for educators.

We encourage our Council and CDA community to contact their congressional representatives and the White House to share their stories and express the importance of Head Start funding.

Act Today:

  • Contact your member of the U.S. House.
  • Contact your U.S. Senators.
  • Contact The White House.
  • Contact your local leaders: governors, state representatives, mayors, school board members, superintendents, local councils, and other officials to encourage them to speak out publicly and contact their federal counterparts.

Together, we can ensure the continuation of this vital program for our communities.

Championing Policies that Impact the Early Childhood Workforce

The Council for Professional Recognition has a long legacy of leading credentialing for early childhood educators – and now we’re stepping up to advocate for them and the field in the halls of Congress and in state legislatures.

The current fragmented nature of the early childhood system results in far too many missed opportunities for children, families, and communities to thrive and succeed. We believe that highly competent educators are the backbone of early childhood education and our economy, and that championing policies that support them and recognize their value uplifts us all. With our policy agenda serving as our guiding light, we’re committed to driving policy solutions that create a brighter future.
