Policy & Advocacy Pathways

Working with the Federal, State and Local Government to advance early childhood education.

A CALL TO ACTION:

The Council for Professional Recognition is urging immediate action to end the federal shutdown and protect the Head Start program, which faces widespread disruptions if funding is not restored. Without swift intervention, more than 65,000 children could lose access to Head Start on November 1, and countless early educators — including CDA®-credentialed professionals — could see their classrooms close and their paychecks disappear.

We’re calling on our Council and CDA community to contact Congress and the White House today. Share your story and speak up for the educators, families, and children who depend on Head Start. Act now! Together, we can keep our early learning system strong.

Championing Policies that Impact the Early Childhood Workforce

The Council for Professional Recognition has a long legacy of leading credentialing for early childhood educators – and now we’re stepping up to advocate for them and the field in the halls of Congress and in state legislatures.

The current fragmented nature of the early childhood system results in far too many missed opportunities for children, families, and communities to thrive and succeed. We believe that highly competent educators are the backbone of early childhood education and our economy, and that championing policies that support them and recognize their value uplifts us all. With our policy agenda serving as our guiding light, we’re committed to driving policy solutions that create a brighter future.
