WASHINGTON — Dr. Calvin E. Moore, Jr., CEO of the Council for Professional Recognition, issued the following statement:

“When we look at the photos of the students who senselessly had their lives taken from them in a Texas elementary school, we see children just a few years older than the ones we seek to educate and nurture. We also mourn the tragic loss of our educator colleagues. We are heart broken.

At this time, we again join as a community to call for an end to such violence.

We also encourage anyone in our early childhood education community to seek the help and mental health support they may need in processing this unspeakable act.”

The Council also highlights these available resources for parents, educators, and administrators.
