APPLY ONLINE FOR EXAM SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS
CDA candidates can now submit Exam Special Accommodation Requests online! It is a quick and simple process:
Create a YourCouncil account
Click CDA Initial Application
Answer “yes” to the accommodations question
Upload official medical documentation to support your request
Wait to receive a decision on your request
Proceed with the online application
Pay the reduced fee of $425 for applying online
REQUEST AN ASSESSMENT IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE ONLINE
CDA candidates requesting Assessments in Another Language (other than English or Spanish) can now submit their request online! It is a quick and simple process:
Create a YourCouncil account
Click CDA Initial Application
Under Language Specialization, select the desired language
Your request will be submitted for review
Wait to receive a decision on your request
Then proceed with the online application
Pay the reduced fee of $125 for applying online

In early April, the Council will launch the first of a series of YourCouncil tutorials. This series will walk candidates through the initial application process – from creating an account to submitting an application.
The tutorials will be short and informative, and will include several helpful tips to make your YourCouncil experience easier and more effective.
The tutorials will be posted on the Council’s website, cdacouncil.org. Once the tutorials are available, they will be announced on the website banner and across all social media platforms for easy access.

Jan Bigelow serves as Chief Financial Officer at the Council and has been with the organization since February of 2022.
Jan has more than 30 years in accounting and finance experience, including public accounting, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. She has held management-level positions with BDO Seidman, Kiplinger Washington Editors, Pew Center for Global Climate Change, Communities In Schools, B’nai B’rith Youth Organization and American Humane. Since 2003, Jan has worked exclusively in the non-profit sector where she has been a passionate advocate in improving business operations in order to further the mission of her employers.
Jan holds a CPA from the State of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lycoming College. She resides in Alexandria VA with her husband and dog.
