WASHINGTON — D.C.

Linda Hassan Anderson, president of the Council for Professional Recognition governing board, is proud to announce that Dr. Calvin E. Moore, Jr., has been appointed as the Council’s CEO. She says, “Dr. Moore has proven himself to be a perfect fit for this role as he’s elevated maintaining equitable access to the Child Development Associate® credential. His leadership has been demonstrated through reimagining the CDA® credentialing process, increasing awareness of the Council with key policymakers, and building stronger partnerships with other national early childhood organizations. This leadership has been especially critical as we’ve all worked through the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Dr. Moore says, “I’m deeply honored by the board’s trust and confidence. I believe it is an acknowledgment of the teamwork we have exhibited as staff members and CDAs during this unprecedented time. We’ve worked together to overcome the direst days of the pandemic and now can look forward to building on our position as a leader in the credentialing of early childhood educators across the country.”

Dr. Moore is the Council’s first CEO to have earned a CDA. He previously served on the board and in senior government executive positions at the federal and state level.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a master’s degree in education and a Ph.D. in early childhood education, both from Walden University.
